Introduction

Musicians might look aghast at the way I have measured the times for the music pieces in the table below. But, when there are several pieces per track, I find having the times to be very useful for the purpose of discerning one piece from another - during the time when I have not yet learned to identify the pieces from the music itself. So the time measurements are just a means to that musical end - which will completely eliminate the need for the times. This music offers material for exploration with my keyboard, because its parts are more easily 'carried' by the ear than is Messiaen's Catalogue d'oiseaux.

{0} For tracks one and twelve, I have not recorded the meticulous thoughts that accompanied the timing measurements in the table above.

{1} The cumulative times have been copied from earlier work, which was written down in the printed material that came with the cd. I do not have a stop watch now - so I can not redo this part of the work.

{2} This figure for the final end time was obtained by subtracting the track-wise start time from the track-wise end time for the last piece and adding it to the cumulative start time (of the last piece).

{3} In the printed material for the CD, the names (and durations) of the second and third pieces of the second track seem clearly to have been mistakenly interchanged.
